  • The L.V. Veterans History Project Roundtable is a young but growing organization started in Allentown, PA in June 2007 by a group of dedicated enthusiastic volunteers.

  • Our primary mission is to collect, document and preserve the personal experiences of U.S. wartime veterans, and home front workers who served in support of them. Our objective is to honor their service and share their stories with current and future generations, historians and most importantly, other family members.

  • We follow the guidelines and format as set forth by the Library of Congress, Veterans History Project, for collecting and documenting veteran’s recollections of wartime experiences.

  • The Veterans History Project collects first person accounts of military service in World War II, the wars in Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf and the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.

  • Veteran’s stories can be documented via a video taped presentation by the veteran at a general meeting of the L.V. Veterans History Project Roundtable or arrangements can be made to conduct the video taped interview at a private location such as the veteran’s home.

  • All video taped presentations/interviews. Along with supporting materials, are submitted to the Library of Congress, Veterans History Project in Washington, DC. All histories are carefully stored and maintained in keeping with professional archival standards. This material will be available at the Library of Congress for use by researchers, educators, family members and others. Biographical and service information are made public on the Veterans History Project through the Library of Congress Web site: www.loc.gov/vets.

  • Arrangements can also be made to register the veteran’s name, photograph, decorations, citations and theatre(s) of service at the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC.

Please note that all L.V. Veterans History Project Roundtable meetings
